This editor is used to describe the set of resources which make up an inventory. An inventory is the "pool" from which devices are allocated when an action requires a device or operator for its operation.

Inventories can be attached to and defined within a suite, however, the full power of the resource management in expecco is exposed, if expecco is operated with a central test scheduling system, such as expecco ALM, which preallocates devices for a test, and passes that "bag of reserved devices" to expecco before execution starts. This way, ALM can schedule multiple tests at the same time and ensure that there is no conflict by two tests accessing the same resource.

Without ALM, resource protection is only possible within a single expecco application, using the same inventory (i.e. you can still run multiple tests at the same time by opening another expecco window and running the other test there (within the same project and the same inventory).


In the editor, add resources from the tree (either via drag & drop, or by selection from the pull-down list):

A resource (eg. a measurement device) is defined by a set of skills (eg. "can measure X") in the resource editor.
