Introuction[Bearbeiten]

The "expecco Mobile Remote App" provides functions to start, pause and stop the execution of a testrun remotely.
All interactive dialogs of the testcase can be answered via the app (in addition to the regular expecco user interface on your PC).

This is especially useful on the factory floor, with large test machinery or with machines where additional manual interaction is required: you can move away from your expeco-PC and still interact with the testrun as required (especially answer input requests, enter comments or photos).

Installation[Bearbeiten]

Load the app for your mobile (Androd) device from the following link and install it:
http://download.exept.de/transfer/h-expeccoRemoteApp-0.9/expeccoRemoteApp-0.9.apk

You may need root permissions for the installation. Please ignore any warnings about unknown source or unknown signature. We did not care for all those formals, as there is no intent to publish this app for the general public in the official app-store.

Connection[Bearbeiten]

Any expecco which is to be remote controllable has to start up a service client as follows: activate the service via the expecco menu under

"Extras" -> "Web-Services" -> "expecco Remote Service (REST)" -> "Start...".

If the "Start..." item is disabled, the service is already running. Then, a dialog appears, asking for a port number and an optional passord for the connection.

Please make sure, that you mobile device can reach the PC on which expecco is running (both should be inside the same network and/or any router or firewall should open the given port number).

After start of the App (on the mobile), you are asked for the port number and possibly for the password.

Interaction[Bearbeiten]

After a sucessfull connection setup, the current testplan is presented as a list, with individual testcases being highlighted according to their stauts. Also the currently active testcase is shown in a different color. If the testcase ask for any user interaction (Value inputs or confirmation of a warning message), the message is presented both on the mobile device and on the expecco PC, and can be answered on either.

You can also pause/continue the test execution from your mobile device.

Finally, you can add a comment or take a photo during execution. These are added to the report as attachement and wll be archived with the resulting execution log/report.
