Steps can also be added with cop-paste; either from the tree (copy a tree item and paste it into a network diagram) or by copy-pasting an existing step in the diagram. You can use either the Copy function from the right-button menu (also called "Context Menu") or the standard keyboard commands CTRL-c - CTRL-v.
Another useful function is Cut & Paste (CTRL-x - CTRL-v inside a diagram to cut (remove) a step and paste it elsewhere.
If you have a connection selected when pasting, the new step is inserted into the connection's data flow.
If a pin is selected, expecco tries to connect that pin to the new step (if possible).
