#WEITERLEITUNG [[Expecco Remote Control App]]
=Introduction=

The Expecco Remote Control app allows for a running testsuite to be monitored and
controlled by an Android mobile device (phone or tablet).
It shows a list of testcases being executed, their state (passed/failed) and also
supports remote control (stop/pause/run) of the test. In addition, confirmation
requests and other dialogs from expecco are forwarded to the mobile device and can be
answered there.

Your testsuite does not need to be modified in any way. The remote control operates transparently.
Warning- and info dialogs, Yes/No confirmations and Text input as requested by expecco
are shown in the app and can be answered either on your PC's screen (as usual) or on the mobile device.

This is especially useful, if technical equipment is involved, which requires
manual interaction (Switching, Readout or Connect), and you would normally have to leave your desk.

By help of the Remote Control App, you can now stay where the equipment is, answer questions and continue execution,
without a need to return back to your PC screen.

=Guide=
# Install the expecco Remote Control App (via Google Play) on your Android Device
# start the app and connect to a running expecco (enter the host name and port).

Any arbitrary port can be used, in case the default port conflicts with other services of your infrastructure.
In addition, a password may be entered on the expecco side, which needs to be confirmed on the mobile device (to control(/restrict access).

=Main Screen=
The main screen shows the list of test cases of the currently running test plan.

=Start/Stop/Pause=
To suspend a running test, click on "Pause"; to resume, click on "Run".
The "Stop"-button aborts the test.

=Attachments and Comments=
You can take pictures or enter comments at any time during the test execution.
Those will be recorded as file attachments (text- or image attachment) to the test result.
