Sound Settings[Bearbeiten]

Audio feedback via sound effects is sometimes useful, if your test is to be executed while you cannot watch the computer's display. This may be because you have to operate the system under test, or handle measurement equipment, or because it is a long running test, and you want to do something else in the meanwhile, but be informed if some special condition arises.

You find these under "Extras" → "Settings" → "Look & Feel" → "Sound".

Supported Systems[Bearbeiten]

Notice that sound playing might be not supported on all operating systems / hardware configurations. If in doubt, click on the note-icon to the right of the sound selection field, to check if sound works OK on your machine. If the "Enable Sound Effects" check box is disabled, expecco itself already figured out, that it cannot play sounds on that machine. Currently (as of Nov 2014), sound is only supported on windows platforms.

Enable Sound Effects[Bearbeiten]

Use this check box to enable or disable all sound effects.

TestSuite Started[Bearbeiten]

This sound is played when a test suite's execution is started. If this field is left empty, or the check box is off, no sound is played.

TestSuite Finished[Bearbeiten]

This sound is played when a test suite's execution has finished. If this field is left empty, or the check box is off, no sound is played.

TestSuite Finished with Error[Bearbeiten]

This sound is played when a test suite's execution has finished with any non-passed test case. If this field is left empty, the sound as specified in the previous field is played.

Operator Input Required[Bearbeiten]

This sound is played whenever a dialog window is asking for user input. If this field is left empty, or the check box is off, no sound is played.

Additional Sound Files[Bearbeiten]

Additional sound files can be installed by copying a sound file (in wav-format) to the "resources\sounds" (or "resources/sounds" under Unix) subdirectory of your expecco installation directory (typically "c:\programs\exept\expecco" resp. "/opt/exept/expecco").
If you forgot where you installed expecco, you can find this folder via the menu item:
"Extras" → "Tools" → "Explorer In" → "Expecco-Folder".
